  • Might Morphin Power Rangers - by Supreme-Court

    Introduction:

At the time of this game's release, Power Rangers is one of the hottest license. Kids all over the world were crazy about the teenage fighters in this game. The storyline had largely been kept in tact as the power rangers struggle against Rita and Zed.

    Graphics [7/10]:

The colorful backgrounds are highlighted by well animated character sprites. They all move fluidly with little noticable missing grames of animation. The fighting stands are right on the spots. The characters are recognizable and baddies are well-drawn. Very nice job indeed. The only reasons that the graphics did not recieve a higher score is because, when this game came out, everything about its graphics had been outdone by another game already. So this game's graphics is not necessarily bad, but certainly not the best outthere.

    Sound & Music [7/10]:

Power Rangers fans would immediately notice the music from the TV show. Some younger gamers might want to sing along with "Go Go Power Rangers". The smacks and grunts are standard fair started by Final Fight. The sound of your fist/foot coming in contact with the enemies is cleanly outputted through your TV's speaker. Stereo sound takes advantage of those TVs with it. Nice job although not spectacular.

    Gameplay/Fun Factor [7.5/10]:

This game had been in the mold of Final Fight to begin with, so the gameplay is too. The difference is that with each action you take, your strength meter builds up. When it reaches max, you have the option of transforming yourself in to the ranger represented by your character. Jason would transform in to the Red Ranger, for example. Each morphed ranger would have his or her own unique weapon, such as the bow of the Pink ranger. The bosses are not boring to fight but certainly don't provide a big enough challenge. Over all, the gameplay is do-able.

    Conclusion/Overall [7/10]:

Overall, this game is not a bad game. This is a slightly above average game. But because of its hot licensing, it deserves to be more than just above average. This game is defined as being in the lower ranges of a very good game. If you are a fan of Power Rangers, then you would be happy to see your heroes and heroines being reproduced on to this well-made video game.
